So I have been considering writing a page about my ‘stance’ on reviews and sponsored posts for a while. Before I didn’t feel it was necessary but I have now decided, for clarity, it is probably best.
Here is what I want to make sure is 100% clear:
1) I do not have google ads or similar on my blog because I want 100% control about what is covered on here. The potential risk of ForDGRedial.com promoting size zero pills and the like make it a total no go for me.
2) Free stuff and financial incentives are not why I started this blog and are not why I continue to blog. Free things here and there are nice, I’m not going to lie. But they are not what motivates me.
3) Often I receive PR emails with information about a last collection, new tv programme or just opened bar. You will not get to hear about these because if I haven’t been there, watched it/planned on watching it or tried it then I don’t cover it. First and foremost it needs to interest me.
4) I am always 100% honest in my opinion of products I try. My intention is to constructively review items, if I’m not sure about something, sent to me or bought, I try not to outright rip it apart. This is because it is only my opinion, you may love it so I don’t want to totally stop people from trying things out for themselves.
5) Sponsored posts….now this is a new world to me. Previously I have steered clear because it just made me think that it would be copying and paste a review into a post and passing it off as my opinion. Not my style!
However, a couple have been proposed to me for products I would quite like to review, whether or not they are ‘sponsored’. So I have agreed to do my first one. There are a few ‘unique selling features’ that I have been asked to include but the posts approach and my review of it is totally my own. It might work, it might not. I am open to hearing what you feel about them.
6) Reviews of free products and sponsored posts should be a small part of my blog, not the main event. I work to make sure I keep this balance – apologies if I don’t always get it right.
