I am Amy, a ‘Heinz 57’ English girlie currently living in Hertfordshire, working in London and am often mocked for Northern-ness (tho for the record I am from the West Midlands). I am 25 ish, ish because, in the spirit of openness and honesty, I occasionally forget my age/get it wrong.
This blog was started because I wanted a blog, it didn’t really have a theme except the (well known by those around me) fact that I am no Nigella Lawson. Infact thank goodness because I can’t stand the woman, but that is by the by. Unfortunately I am just not someone who is able to glide through life doing a full-time job as well as keeping a home and making fantastic homemade eats and treats. As ‘For Domestic Goddess, Redial…’ has evolved I started covering beauty more and made various grand plans about how I was going to whip my size 16 ‘cough cough’ into shape.
More recently I was concerned that my blog had turned into a bit of a strange mish-mash, more officially referred to as ‘women’s lifestyle’ and so I did what any good blogger would do when faced with a mid-life blogging crisis…I brainstormed, attended a few events and drank sweet sherry whilst peering over my pink laptop firing statements and rhetorical questions at Mark.
The result…? Suddenly it smacked me square on the forehead with the answer to my pondering with a single word.
‘For Domestic Goddess, Redial…’ is about my search for well-being. Obviously that kinda leaves me free to write about anything and everything because it is more a life-long point of searching than a topic of focus. But for me it is what I, and this, am all about. During my brainstorming I made myself list 10 key words which together would encompassed my blog:
Beauty + Exercise + Food + Honesty + Balance + Individual
+ Failure + Self-improvement + Personal + Home
I think well-being sums them up pretty perfectly.
I want to be the best I can be – mind, body and soul.
So this is my journey as I seek well-being.
