Lovely bertie shoes, size 8 again, worn twice. Great heel height and cushioning built into the shoe under the ball so super comfy. There is a small amount of damage on the heel just by the join as soon (please ignore the white specks, it must be from the flash). £65 new, £25.

January goals review
Hey everyone,
So at the beginning of January I made one big new year’s resolution – to lose lbs to raise £s for Sense UK. Well this is going really rather well, I have lost 7.5lb so far and have currently raised £267!! I also said I would be making monthly goals so, as February is almost upon us, here is my January round-up:
lactose free – this has been upped to milk free and the difference in my skin and eczema is amazing!! So this will definitely be continuing
caffeine free – I broke this a couple of times as I didn’t realise that green tea has some caffeine in it and today I really wanted a real cup of coffee but overall this has been a huge success. I haven’t *needed* it, although I felt pretty awful for the first couple of days. It has led to me drinking 3l of water a day which is great in my mind. Think I am going to keep caffeine as an occasional treat – not really enjoying it without milk anyway tbh
read a book – complete fail!! But I haven’t given up hope.
begin project 10 pan – this is a work in progress and I will be continuing with this through February
comment on people’s blogs more – have been a little slack on this over the last couple of weeks but overall I have been doing this and it has felt good. Another one to try and keep up.
Don’t forget to look out for February’s goals :o)

Spinning!!
Oh my goodness it was soooo good!!! My spin circuits experience went a bit like this:
- Gym buddy had to cancel so I went alone. Didn’t have a pound coin and neither did reception so I had to take my bag to the class. Instructor didn’t seem too impressed and everyone knew exactly what they were doing. Felt super intimidated and contemplated walking but mentally talked to myself and instead approached the instructor and asked him to show me how to set up the bike as I was a newbie.
- 20 mins spin, instructor told me just to do what I could so I tried by best but did easer options as times. He did chest presses and lots of different positions. Then we moved to the studio to do another 20 mins. As I tried to walk my legs felt like jelly – twas scary and satisfying all at once.
- Did the studio work, in general coped with this much better – lots of ab work but I have quite good abs. In my sister’s words ‘Amy, you’ve got a great 6 pack – it is just the fat over the top’. Good job I love her ;) Think it was sort of a compliment.
- Said thank you for the class as I had really enjoyed it…he mentioned other spin classes and I explained I don’t like working out at lunchtime but planned to return to this class next thursday. Ended up having a conversation like this:
A: I’m doing a slim-athon through work so I’ve got to get to it
I: Hope you’re are doing it sensibly
A: Oh yeah, dairy intolerant we think so no dairy, no caffeine, healthy eating and trying to introduce exercise
I: Well maybe the guys here could do a programme or something…
A: Yeah maybe…you see my brother is disabled and lives in a care home so trying to raise money for the charity that runs it
I: Anything we can do to help just let me know…publicity, programme, anything. (pause while I smile and nod) You do know who I am don’t you?
A: Erm…no
I: I’m actually the manager so just let me know what you need
*Aaaaahhhhhh how amazing, does a mental happy dance*
So I need to go and find him next week, super excited though :o)
Anyway here are a couple of pictures for you…
Post-workout tube journey snacks
My first green monster (thanks to TrulyJess), this and a fillet of peppered smoked mackeral was dinner
This was delish!! Really didn’t last long as a result hehe. I made mine using (in order I put in):
1tbsp milled flaxseed (linseed)
500ml jug portion of raw baby spinach (organic and washed)
1 banana, split roughly into chunks
250ml almond milk
*BLEND*
4 ice cubes
*BLEND*
the.end.

Detox: Round-up
Well I was due to do this as a video but trying to get everything I wanted to say squeezed into 10mins, let alone actually remember to say everything and in a sensible order. Anyway so instead you have a blog entry which may end up being hideously long but I like to be thorough.
- Firstly I would like to make a note that I do not think that a detox which centres on the exclusion of food is a good idea for people who have a history of eating disorders or the sort of personality where you might be prone to developing an unhealthy relationship with food and/or exercise. If I was not someone who loved food as much as I do, then I think I could have got a ‘kick’ out of not eating and I do not want to encourage this to people for whom this might spiral out of control.
- Overall I lost 4lb; however, a large proportion of this would be due to the water element. It is important to remember that it isn’t a 4lb fat loss. I definitely felt flatter and narrower across my tummy and hips.
- After recording the end of the day 2 vlog I physically was unwell. I came over exhausted and felt unable to do anything but lay on the bed. This (and a nap) was followed by being really quite shakey. So I ate 30g of porridge with some milk and a nectarine, followed by a mug of decaf tea and 2 ginger nut biscuits. This was at about 9pm which was ~48hrs after I last ate. I am saying this because I want to be transparent about what I did during the weekend and also to highlight that you know your own body and you know your physical, emotional and mental limits. Do not be afraid to ‘break’ the detox if you need to.
- However, I don’t regret doing the detox. I think it was incredibly positive to give my body a rest from food. Although there wasn’t any toilet action over the weekend, I have since felt that my tummy has cleared through a lot of ‘old’ waste which it might not have otherwise. It also provided me with an opportunity to consider my relationship with food, how I fuel my body and what impact that has on how I feel.
- As a result of this ‘thinking’ time, I am researching into raw and vegan diets as well as alternative products available. I will never be a raw or vegan follower…mainly because I don’t share their strong believes regarding animal products amongst many other reason. But I cannot hide from the fact that how I fuel my body has a huge impact on how my body performs. If I continue to want to ‘tackle’ my PCOS rather than be a victim of it whilst not wanting to use western medicine’s answer such as metformin then I need to utilise ‘alternative’ knowledge. That means a more natural diet, avoiding dairy, refined sugar and processed food.
So the big question…would I do it again? Definitely! The David Kirsch product was great for someone who was new to detoxing, felt a little overwhelmed by information online and wanted the experience to be hassle free. I don’t think it is something I would want to do every weekend or month but maybe twice a year, with a lesser detox (maybe fruit and vegetable based) a couple of times a year also. For me, the major positive from this is not the 4lbs, but the time to think about food.

Dear Fellow Bloggers
Before I started my current blog I made several failed attempts as a teenager. I failed due to a desire to be a ‘noticed’ blogger (almost instantly, regardless of quality of content), and a lack of focus. This blog differs because I blog purely for myself, I love people reading, subscribing and commenting but it isn’t essential. More than that, I regularly read other blogs. First and foremost I am a reader of blogs.
Tired of the same old crap in magazines and the endless pages of adverts before making it to the contents page…followed by even more adverts until I actually found any content, I turned my back and ForDGRedial was born. However, I have become increasingly irritated by a few points. I list them below, not to be a stroppy cow with an inflated sense of self but as friendly advice to fellow bloggers.
1) Music on blogs is not only annoying due to it taking you by surprise and also not necessarily being to your taste, but also because it makes reading blogs discreetly – impossible! (i.e. when you’re OH is on the xbox and you’ve promised faithfully you will stay off the broadband)
2) Excessive advertising on blogs is distasteful. One of the few blogs I love despite the advertising is LoveMaegan.com, because her content is lush and the advertising is less intrusive as she has it in the side bar. Adverts between each post act like a painful jolt from the blog reader’s dream world…which normally results in me closing the page. An except to this is youtube, I like people being able to upload more than 10min videos and the adverts are easily ignored as well as having a handy little ‘x’ marks the spot.
3) I am currently undergoing a slow but steady cull to my blog, twitter and youtube. What criteria am I using? Well these points and this one in particular. I understand that certain companies use blogs to gain greater exposure to a captive audience. Overall I actually think this is a positive thing, we get to hear about products before they are out and even better than an advert in a magazine…we get our hands on a real life review. But when you see the same product on half a dozen blogs on your blog reader, the reviews’ value automatically plunges. Worse than this are blogs where you struggle to find products they have purchased themselves! Another reason I turned to blogs was for the personal touch – not to read posts by people acting as little more than PR puppets. No matter how great you tell me something is, if you aren’t prepared to spend your own money on it why would I risk parting with the little frivolous cash I have?
4) Blogging is, in my view, an interactive hobby. I love commenting, getting comments and commenting on comments. Some bloggers seem to have become a victim of their own success in this way, and are a little detached. I love finding the smaller, ‘start-up’ blogs who really care.
5) Well this is an obvious one but never one to assume I thought it worth including, regular updates with varied content is a winning formula.
If any of the points sound as if they could be describing your blog, please consider that I, and I believe main other – normally enthusiastic readers of blogs, will not read, let alone subscribe, to your blog. That isn’t to say that you have to change it – afterall your blog is your blog. But if you do want a reading base…maybe it is time for a change…
